From full pool rebuilds to commercial design and construction, done right the first time.
Southern Pool + Outdoors handles pool construction in North Texas for homeowners and commercial properties. That includes full rebuilds of worn-out backyard pools, new finishes and stone work, and design-to-build projects for HOAs, apartment communities and hotels.
We also clean and repair pools every week, so we plan every build around the equipment pad and the upkeep that comes after. A lot of builders leave that part to someone else. We don’t, because we’re usually the ones who end up taking care of the pool.
We design, build and remodel pools for HOAs, apartment complexes, hotels, assisted living communities, schools and public pools across North Texas. Every project runs on a set schedule, with a safe job site and regular updates for your board or property manager. Once the pool reopens, we can keep it running with inspections, water testing, and filter and pump repairs.
A rough-looking pool doesn’t always need to be torn out. Most of what we see in Collin County backyards is surface wear. Plaster goes rough and blotchy after years of Texas sun. The tile line gets crusted with white calcium from our hard water. Coping pops loose after the clay soil swells in a wet spring and shrinks back in August.
All of that can be fixed with new finish, tile, coping and decking. A true rebuild makes sense when the shell itself is cracked, the plumbing keeps leaking, or you want a different shape or depth. We handle that too, including pool reshaping.
If the structure is good, we’ll tell you so. It’s better to put that money into the finish and the deck than into concrete you don’t need.
A remodel is also a good opportunity to evaluate the systems behind the pool.
Replace aging pumps, filters, heaters, and other equipment while the pool is already being updated.
Control your pool equipment, schedules, lighting, and features more conveniently with modern pool automation.

The questions we get asked most, answered straight. If yours is not here, call (214) 922-1914 and ask.
Common reasons include rough or stained pool surfaces, outdated tile, damaged coping, worn decking, older lighting, or simply wanting to update the appearance of the backyard. We can inspect the existing pool and help determine which upgrades make sense.
Yes. A remodeling project does not have to involve the entire pool. Some homeowners begin with resurfacing, tile, coping, or decking while others choose to renovate several areas at once.
The interior finish plays a major role in how the water appears. Different finish colors, aggregates, and surrounding materials can create water tones ranging from lighter blues to deeper blue and blue-gray appearances.
Yes. Tile and coping are commonly updated together because the two materials sit next to each other and have a major impact on the overall pool design.
In many cases, water features can be incorporated into an existing pool during remodeling. What can be added depends on the pool design, plumbing, equipment, and the type of feature you want.
Yes. Remodeling can be a good time to evaluate older pumps, filters, heaters, lighting, automation, and other equipment, especially when several parts of the pool are already being updated.
Pool remodeling costs vary considerably depending on the size and condition of the pool, the materials selected, and how much of the pool and surrounding area is being changed. A resurfacing project will be very different from a remodel involving new tile, coping, decking, lighting, and water features.
The best way to establish a realistic budget is to have us look at the existing pool and discuss the improvements you are considering.
The timeline depends on the scope of the renovation. A focused project involving one or two improvements generally requires less time than a complete pool renovation. Once we understand your project, we can provide a clearer idea of the expected process and timeline.
Your existing pool may already have everything it needs to become the centerpiece of your backyard again.
A new finish, updated tile, modern coping, new decking, or a few carefully chosen features can completely change the way the space looks and feels.
